Gilbert Wilson who was lovingly known as Shorty, born on February 1, 1942, in Tennessee, peacefully departed this life on November 15, 2025, in Lumberton, Mississippi. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Gilbert was a devoted family man whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of many. A proud veteran, he served his country with honor and commitment, in the United States Army as a Paratrooper.
After a fulfilling career, Gilbert retired from management at Sleepy Hollow RV Park for many years, leaving behind a reputation of integrity and excellence in his professional endeavors. He was held in high regard within his community, where he was known not just for his work, but also for his unwavering support and generosity towards others. His assistance to those in need and his active participation in community events illustrated his deep commitment to the place he called home.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his loving daughter; Sue Wilson, as well as by his loving wife; Lillie Mae Wilson, who was an integral part of his journey. Their companionship shaped the wonderful person he became, and their memories will forever linger in the hearts of those they impacted. He leaves to cherish his son James Wilson and daughter Lisa White.
