Rose Blakney

Rose Blakney, a cherished mother, devoted friend, and beloved member of the Laurel community, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 8, 1953, in Laurel, Mississippi, Rose embodied a spirit of kindness and service that touched the lives of everyone she met.

During her life, Rose was known for her loving heart and a deep commitment to helping others. She raised five children, nurturing them with tenderness and teaching them the values of compassion and generosity. Rose’s simple and amiable nature made it easy for friends and family alike to connect with her; she had a gift for making others feel at ease and valued.

A devoted follower of Jehovah, Rose found comfort and inspiration in her faith. She enjoyed spending her time at home, often found engrossed in a good book or watching films that brought her joy. Her life was characterized by her selfless actions, always giving her time and assistance to those in need.

The legacy of Rose Blakney will be celebrated during a visitation on December 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Both events and her repass will take place at The Laurel Collective Venue, located at 1322 South 16th Avenue, Laurel, MS 39440.

Rose’s memory will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a heartfelt legacy of love, compassion, and humility that will continue to inspire her family and friends for years to come.
