Sabrina Ruffin, born on September 24, 1977, in Laurel, Mississippi, passed unexpectedly on June 28, 2025, in Forest County. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Sabrina was a remarkable individual with a passion for her business, SLR Events, which she held near and dear to her heart. She was known as an incredible decorator, bringing a unique touch to every event she helped create. More than just a businesswoman, Sabrina was described by those closest to her as someone who dedicated herself to assisting anyone in need, often taking on countless tasks to ensure that others' events were memorable and successful.
Her journey through life began at South Jones High School in Ellisville, Mississippi, where she cultivated friendships and skills that she would carry into her adulthood. Each memory shared by her loved ones resonates with her brightest asset—her smile. It was said to light up the room and warm the hearts of all around her.
Sabrina’s proudest accomplishments were undeniably her children and grandchildren. She took immense pride in their lives and nurtured them with a love that was unconditional. As a devoted mother, she raised Zykeria Ruffin, Devonte Phillips, Dontrell Hayes, Jalana Hayes, Janiqua Hayes, and Arthur Cody Jr. Her legacy lives on through them and in the loving memories they hold.
Sabrina is survived by her mother, Fannie (Johnnie) Milsap, and several siblings: Tamika McGilberry, Cekeyla McDonald, Coquise McGowan, Tabitha Ross, and Bernetha Millsap White. She was also preceded in death by her father, the late Jimmie Ransom, and her brother, the late Marcus Ruffin.
